Cooking is something everyone is around from the day they are born. If we did not cook, we would not eat.
Cooking is something that I have loved since I was a child.
I have been around some great chefs all my life, and a lot of my styles and influences come from them. My style is very different still as should anyone else’s style of cooking.
Cooking is very therapeutic for me.
Its fun to experiment with different spices, meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, grains etc., to create something delicious. Notice the subject; cooking. Not baking. I am a horrible baker, and I find that frustrating. There is a difference between the two.
Cooking is therapeutic for me because I can express myself through my food. It is an extension. When cooking, a small part of me goes into that dish. My styles, my creativity, my passion, my love, my joy. When cooking. I put all of me into it. Whether eggs or curry, a piece of me is found in the food.
Cooking is relaxing. Explaining it in words is difficult because of all the feelings that come with it. It is simply love.
Food is like a loving relationship. It knows no boundaries. It accepts you as you are. As you dip into it, it dips into you leaving a piece of you to remember. We all know that one food that we just love that makes us feel great. That is what cooking is for me.
Attending culinary school is something that has been on my mind since I have been 10 years old. If it will happen is still being determined. That is for another day though.
